Week 1 Project: My MCBS Story

My love for music, art, and media has been with me ever since I was a little girl. As the years went by, not only did this love grow, but I put it to good use by doing work for various nonprofit organizations and groups.

Thanks to these experiences of charity work, my skills improved, and I became confident with my passions of media and music. I truly enjoyed these fields and decided in my early years of high school to pursue both in college.

As I reached my senior year and looked at colleges more seriously, I hit a roadblock and became torn. I couldn’t find a school that offered both the majors I was looking for and was within my budget range.

I was devastated. Not knowing what to do, I put my music degree on hold, narrowed my college choices down to two, and began to pray and hope that the right decision would be made.

February of last year, I was in Ohio visiting one of my college choices. After I had taken a tour, I was waiting in their gift shop when suddenly my phone rang.

Answering it, I was greeted by a Full Sail representative who wanted to know if I was still interested in their program. Taken aback, I said yes, and they told me they would follow up the next week.

The two of us kept in touch, and I submitted my application within the next few weeks.

It took me several months to realize that it could not have been a coincidence that they called me as I was visiting another college.

And so, in May, I made my decision, chose to pursue my passion for Media with Full Sail University, and was ecstatic to begin the following August. Now, I am a part of the MCBS tribe and still have a that same love for music, art, and media and a desire to share that passion with the world.

Reflection: Stacey Williams Ng’s story was inspiring and engaging. She began her tale with the time of her childhood, progressed through the biggest moments of her life, and reached where she is today. She told her story through clever, cute animations that gave emphasis to her words. After viewing her video, I was inspired to begin my story when I was little and add visuals to it. Using old doodles, I used still cartoons to add life to my MCBS story beginning as a child and ending where I am now.
